Es por eso que la última en integrarse la ex chica «Yingo» Catalina Palacios. Por medio de un comunicado, el canal dio a conocer su incorporación y su historia respecto a la danza, de la cual ha recibido múltiples llamados en su vida.
Palacios partió revelado: “Mi primer llamado fue cuando niña, presioné a mis papás desde los 3 hasta los 12 años para que me dejaran practicar ballet clásico, pero ellos nunca quisieron”, revela la ex “Mekano” y “Yingo” sobre su infancia. “Ellos eran muy a la antigua y pensaban que era una etapa solamente, como la que toda niña tiene, y que se me iba a quitar. Pero a mí no se me quitó, y cuando pude tomar ballet por mi cuenta ya era muy grande, así que perdí ese sueño. No alcanzó a florecer”.
Al no poder entrar a ballet, se metió en gimnasia rítmica. “Yo tenía demasiadas condiciones y un profesor, Pedro Castillo, quería que yo compitiera, así que me consiguió a escondidas la malla del uniforme del colegio, las zapatillas, todo. También mandó una carta a mis papás. Pero ellos no quisieron que siguiera y me sacaron a los 12. Para mí fue muy terrible, a esa edad eso era todo en lo que pensaba, andaba por las paredes haciendo los ejercicios”, cuenta.
Recordó que su segundo encuentro con la danza fue al salir del colegio, cuando consiguió trabajo en un banco. “Me sentía fuera de lo que me apasionaba, del camino artístico. Entonces busqué todas las alternativas para acercarme, y bailé en varios grupos folklóricos, estuve en el coro juvenil del Teatro Municipal y en un ballet pascuense”, dice.
Y ahora su tercer acercamiento fue más satisfactorio, cuando a los 21 años se metió a un casting para un programa llamado “Mekano”. “Yo nunca he sido de ver televisión, entonces cuando quedé me puse como loca a ver el programa para entenderlo, y me tomé súper en serio el tema del baile, porque era mi oportunidad para hacer lo que quería”, cuenta Palacios, quien estuvo en el programa juvenil de Mega sólo un año y medio, pero dejó una huella imborrable.
Después emigró a la actuación en series y en la animación de programas como “Yingo”. Pero el baile lo retomó sólo en otros dos estelares de danza, “El Baile en TVN” en 2007, y “Fiebre de baile” en 2011, además de seguir practicando zumba por su cuenta.
Tras el nacimiento de su primera hija en 2017, dejó por completo de bailar, lo que le trajo graves consecuencias físicas. “Bailé zumba hasta una semana antes de que naciera mi hija, pero una vez nacida ya no tuve tiempo para seguir. Como me detuve físicamente, me salió una hernia discal el invierno pasado, y estuve todo este verano arrastrando una pierna. Estoy recién recuperándome”, revela.
Por eso, ser convocada para la nueva temporada de “Aquí se baila”, titulada “Talento vs. Fama”, es para ella una gran oportunidad de recuperarse. “Ahora después de 4 años estoy muy muy ansiosa por bailar. Lo que me motiva a entrar es el amor por la música y la danza, lo sanadora que es, por lo que es mi deporte favorito”, dice Cata.
Confiesa no haber visto mucho el programa por no tener televisor, dice que se ha preocupado de ver algunas presentaciones. “Admiro las puestas en escena de los demás bailarines, las disfruto muchísimo. Me dan ganas de estar ahí cuando las veo. Eso me pasa no sólo con este programa, yo siempre estoy mirando videos de personas que hacen este arte. Paso horas viendo a bailadoras de flamenco, por ejemplo, es algo que admiro mucho”.
También en cuanto a sus estilos favoritos Catalina afirma: “Me gusta bailar los bailes de salón, pero me encanta aprender cosas nuevas. Lo ideal es volverse especialista en algún estilo, y yo no lo soy en ninguno. Eso me motiva mucho del programa, la idea de profundizar, mover mi cuerpo otra vez con la música y aprender algo nuevo, que es el mejor desafío para mí”.
